This fair is one of the industry's most important professional showcases. In 2009, Cruise Shipping Miami celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Within the framework of this important fair CCCB had interesting conversations with Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Lines amongst others. Veit Hürdler, General Manager of CCCB, summarized: “We are glad that there are concrete plans of American shipping companies for calls in Bremerhaven in 2010”. But CCCB’s policy is to publish these plans only when the shipping companies have given the go-ahead for it which has not been the case yet.
The British magazine “Dream World Cruise Destinations” has evaluated 231 cruise- terminals and destinations world wide. The results were presented during the Cruise Shipping Miami. 41 of the competitors have won prices in 16 different categories. The CCCB was awarded with the price of the “Dream World Cruise Destinations 2008 Award” as the most efficient terminal operator. Andrea Kamjunke-Weber, Commercial Director at CCCB: “We are especially glad to receive this award as we were compared to large international ports. In this category e. g., Vancouver, Canada could reach a similar proficiency level.
The award was handed over in Miami by the editor of the magazine, Mr. Chris Ashcroft.
