CCCB looks back on a very succesfull season
During the 2008 season, 98 ships with some 130.000 passengers were handled by Columbus Cruise Center
The team of Columbus Cruise Center has not much time to relax in the low season though. New innovative ideas must be implemented before MS Marco Polo will give the starting shot into the new season 2009 in early March.
In 2008, the new relaxation area with deck-chairs was a darling of the public. Here, the passengers could enjoy their waiting time having a great overview of “their” cruiseship and the works on the quay. The chess game on the first floor was also used with enthusiasm.
The new exclusive VIP-Lounge was favoured by passengers and shipping companies equally.

First Call MS Queen Victoria in 2009
CCCB is looking forward to welcome Cunard’s MS Queen Victoria for the first time at the Columbus quay on May 29, 2009. MS Queen Victoria will stop in Bremerhaven on her trip from Southampton continuing to Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and finally St. Petersburg. On August 5, MS Queen Victoria will call at Bremerhaven a second time.
Before the new „Queen“ was put to sea, she got her "ship christening" on the 10th of December 2007 from the duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker Bowles. Queen Victoria gracefully blends timeless British tradition with a rich array of modern amenities. With her slim body she reminds of the legendary Cunard ocean liners of the golden age. The classic Cunard colours underline her exceptional elegance.
Events
More and more companies benefit from the possibility of using the Columbus Cruise Center as a maritime event location beside the vessel calls.
In addition to several major events, CCCB was proud of hosting the award ceremony „Jugend forscht“ (European youth competition in natural sciences and technology). The organizing representatives were enthousiastic about the top level location.
Columbus Cruise Café
Starting from March 2009, the „Gastro-Team Venhofen“ will be the new catering company at the Columbus Cruise Café. Our new Colleague
In February 2009, Malaike Massoth has joined the CCCB team. As Terminal Manager she is responsible for all passenger related services. Ms. Massoth studied geography with main focus on tourism. She has gathered work and life experience in many parts of the world, including three month working on a ranch in Canada, three month travelling through Costa Rica, studying one year as an Erasmus student in Madrid/Spain and finally working as an junior sales consultant for a Chilenian incoming agency in Santiago de Chile and Puerto Varas/chile. Beside her everyday work in Chile she supervised and coordinated shore excursions for cruiseships in Puerto Montt/Chile.
Last year she returned to Germany bringing along more organizing experience, a favour to work with people of different culture and the wish to enhance her professional skills.
