Starting Shot for the New Season First Call of MSC – Celebration in the CCCB On May 06th we are looking forward to welcome the MSC Armonia for the first time to the News for the New Season 2008 Well timed for the beginning of the season, the CCCB is able to showcase that extensive improvements have been undertaken during off-season. Thereby the entire signage has been revised and updated to an international standard. In the course of this improvement, the digital bus guidance system has been adapted to the passenger needs. Therefore, it is now even more clearly structured. The bus stations 1 – 10 are located in the entrance area whereas the bus stations 11 – 20 are located in the exit area of the bus terminal. For the passengers well-being, a relax area with some deck-chairs has been set-up. Further more, there is additional furniture in the café area. Additional plants in the first floor create a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Moreover, there are two new additional internet workspaces – available for crew and passengers and further the lounge presents itself in a new look. With immediate effect, reservations from shipping companies, tour operators etc. are welcome. Successful Convention On the annual Seatrade Cruise shipping Convention 2008 in Miami, the CCCB was represented again with its own booth within the associated booth of German ports "Destination Germany". Alongside from numerous dialogues with representatives of North-American Shipping Companies, it was the ideal platform for an exchange of experiences with colleagues of other ports. In line with the trade show, a new European port alliance has been launched of which the CCCB is part of. Atlantic Alliance During the Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention, a new association of European ports has been anounced. The CCCB is founder member of the Atlantic Alliance which unites 15 ports all located on the European westcoast. The ambition of this alliance is joint marketing activities of the European westcoast ports from Lisbon to Hamburg. The purpose is to enhance the degree of popularity of the touristic attractions in these destinations. The background for these now established efforts is rooted in the history of these European westcoast ports. The shipping companies currently tend to perceive them as transit ports only. It is especially important for New Colleague Since March 1st, David Enders is a new CCCB team member. Mr. Enders worked in the direct environment of the CCCB in recent years already.
