Bremerhaven Cruise Terminal sees above-average demand.
Columbus Cruise Center Bremerhaven (CCCB) expects higher than average growth rates in 2008. "We have 101 planned departures for 2008 – an increase of more than 40. This will mean a passenger volume of more than 130,000 – a rise of at least 70% compared to 2007," explains Veit Hürdler, the General Manager at CCCB. "14 stops by MSC Cruises vessels seem to be securing us a breakthrough into the international market." This claim is reinforced by the planned visits of Costa Kreuzfahrten, Saga Cruises and Fred Olsen Cruise Lines. In addition, CCCB remains the home port for well-known German shipping lines and tour organisers such as Phoenix Reisen, Transocean Tours or Hansa Kreuzfahrten.
There are three main reasons for this development:
- CCCB is finding more and more recognition due to the outstanding quality of the facility and the services offered as well as the easy accessibility from all over Germany and the excellent infrastructure.
- The generous berthing capacities. Depending on size, CCCB can handle up to five vessels at any given time.
- Shipping lines are now looking for new route concepts and destinations as alternatives to the Baltic Sea products.
This success will enable CCCB to maintain and expand its dominant position in Germany as a modern and comfortable passenger cruise terminal. The 2008 season will also see passengers from 16 vessels being offered extensive visits to the Bremerhaven/Bremen Region for the first time.
CCCB can be found at Stand 202 of the Seatrade Europe convention, together with the ports of Hamburg, Kiel, Lübeck, Rostock and Sassnitz. For more information please contact Tel: +49-471-8001-0.
